Welcome, residents of the Pinehills – so glad you’re here!

We know Pinehills residents need extra service from an interior and exterior painter, so we’ve educated ourselves to help you seamlessly through the process.

Painting to exteriors in the Pinehills community – our specialty!

CertaPro Painters is an approved vendor for the Pinehills community – you may have seen our information on your residents-only website!

Pinehills wood exteriors should be painted about every 7 years:

Pinehills homes over 7 years old are likely due for an exterior coat of paint.

Painting a wood exterior, including cedar shingles, every 7 years is the cadence we recommend in the Plymouth area to account for the harsh New England climate.  If you’re unsure if your Pinehills exterior needs painting, take our 20-second painting quiz.

Whether you want to match your existing paint color or choose another exterior color, we can help you through the Pinehils design review process.

If you’re planning on staying a long time in your home, we recommend painting it with one of the newer, more durable paint formulas.

If you’re thinking of choosing a different exterior paint color other than the color you already have, you can work with Kate Rafoth, our designer, to choose an exterior paint color that fits right in with your Pinehills neighborhood.

Mahogany deck - showing semi-transparent stain on rightPinehill decks and porches:

Decks and porches add to the sense of community at the Pinehills, and wood ones must be maintained regularly to stay protected and beautiful.

Mahogany is a common deck material in the Pinehills that needs to be restained every 1-2 years (we know, we wish it were lower maintenance too).

If any wood on your wood decks or porches has rotted, our carpenters can replace the boards before we paint or stain your deck.

One stop for carpentry and painting:

Our clients appreciate that we have carpenters on staff to replace rotted wood trim, clapboards, and decking before we paint.  One call to CertaPro Painters takes care of your carpentry and painting needs.

Replacing Cedar shingles – a whole side or just a few!

A quick drive through the Pinehills reveals many cedar shingles that are buckling and missing.  Our carpenters can replace just a few or a whole side of cedar shingles.

If your cedar shingles are in good shape structurally but are black or dark green, this often means you have mold and mildew growth and need CertaPro Painters to powerwash them.

Our carpenters replace rotted wood before we paint or stain.

Rotted wood trim:

Exterior wood trim often rots in places close to the ground and where the trim has been cut or mitered.  This is because moisture tends to be prevalent in these sensitive areas.

Our carpenters can replace just the rotted boards with PVC trim which won’t rot.

Once the PVC is painted, it looks just like wood, so we can splice in PVC only where needed and leave the wood in good shape.

Rotted wood clapboards:

If you notice a few rotted clapboards on the siding of your home, our carpenters can replace the clapboards before we paint.  Once the side of your home is painted, the new clapboards blend with the old ones seamlessly.

Replacing deck and porch wood:

Because of rainwater puddling on the floor of your deck and porches, the wood on decks and porches can rot faster than wood on the rest of your home.

Our carpenters can replace any wood your deck needs, including railings, floorboards, stairs, and banisters.

Painting to Vinyl-Sided Homes in the Pinehills:

Some homes in the Pinehills have maintenance-free vinyl siding.

If you’d like to change the color of your vinyl siding, we can use vinyl-safe paint.

Second home in the Pinehills?  We can paint even if you can’t be on-site!

We can quote and paint your Pinehills exterior so that the whole project is complete when you drive in the driveway.

We have an entire protocol for second-home painting and carpentry services that includes:

  • Quoting the project using photos, video, FaceTime, and email
  • Daily updates to our out-of-area clients with photos and video to show the project’s progress.
  • FaceTime communication so we can show you what we’re finding and how the project is progressing
  • The final 20%  payment is not due until you have inspected the home yourself (within two months of completion).

A separate CertaPro team just for Home Owner Associations.

We work with HOAs and Condominium boards to maximize your maintenance budget.  This might mean staging the painting over a few years, painting decks this year, the trim next year, and your clapboards in the future.

Copy and share these links with your board if they’re considering painting, staining, and rotted wood replacement:

HOAs:  Contact us early – even with no specific project in mind:

We understand that boards are often volunteer positions with many competing priorities. It also means the members are not likely painting experts.

This is why HOAs can call us anytime – even without a specific painting or carpentry project in mind.

We’re happy to educate you and your board on best practices to make future projects easier.

Interior Painting in Pinehills Homes.

Open floor plan
Open floor plans require a designer’s eye to ensure colors don’t look choppy. Our designer Kate is fantastic at “full house color palettes,” so everything “flows.”

Open Floor Plans:

Many Pinehills homes have open floor plans which can be tricky to paint.

Our designer Kate can come to the rescue and help you develop a whole house color palette that ensures that the openness of the first floor doesn’t look choppy but has colors that work nicely together, so your eye flows easily from room to room.

Kate can provide a computerized color rendering of your first floor, showing how the paint colors look side-by-side before we ever pick up a brush.

Our interior painting process:

For us, the process is as important as the painting.

We understand you’re busy. We determine what’s important to your household routine before we paint.  This ensures we can plan ahead of time to respect your day’s routine and, for example, use an entryway that won’t be in your way or not let your dog outside.
