Winter home maintenance

Posted on November 6, 2021

There are lots of winter-time projects we can help you accomplish!

While we can’t paint exteriors in the winter, there are many things we can do during the winter to get your home ready for next year. This is especially helpful if you’re planning on putting your home on the market in the Springtime or need to spruce it up to rent it out.

If we can take care of the following items during the wintertime, the last thing we’ll need to do is put the exterior paint on in the Springtime:

Outdoor carpentry, including replacing rotted trim, deck boards, rotted clapboards, and shingles.  2 hands replacing an unfinished piece of mahogany wood on a deck floor

Interior and exterior color consultation:  Kate, our designer, can help you choose paint colors this winter to paint both inside and outside.  If you’re thinking of putting your home on the market, she’s adept at choosing neutral colors that match your current furnishings to attract more buyers to your home.

Interior painting and carpentry of all kinds

Take a look at our updated painting schedule to give you an idea of how soon we can start your interior painting project for you.

Our carpenters can add crown moldings and wainscot to your interiors to give them a finished look.

We can replace your hollow interior doors with solid doors.

When can we start exterior painting in the Spring?

We usually start our exterior season in late March to mid-April, depending on the weather. We would never risk painting a home’s exterior when it’s too wet or cold because we want the exterior paint to last and because we warranty our work.

We can still quote your exterior painting project in the winter.

Homeowners often forget that while we can’t paint exteriors in the wintertime, we can still give you a quote for exteriors during the winter. By getting an exterior painting quote in the winter, you can be one of the first houses we paint in the Spring.

If you have any questions or want a quote on your painting project, email Paige at [email protected]. We’re happy to answer your questions even if you’re doing the painting yourself.
