Indian Pond Kingston MA painting
Exteriors in the Indian Pond community in Kingston need painting every 7+/- years to stay protected.

Indian Pond exteriors need painting about every 7 years:

Homes at Indian Pond in Kingston over 7 years old are likely due to an exterior paint coat.

Since most homes in the Indian Pond community were built in the last decade, if you haven’t painted your home since you bought it, it needs a coat of paint to stay protected.

Painting a wood exterior, including cedar shingles, every 7 years is the cadence we recommend in the Kingston and South Shore area to account for the harsh New England climate.  If you’re unsure if your exterior needs painting, take our 20-second painting quiz.

If you’re thinking of choosing a different exterior paint color other than the color you already have, you can work with Kate Rafoth, our designer, to choose an exterior paint color that fits right in with the Indian Pond neighborhood.

Decks and porches add to the sense of community at Indian Pond, and wood ones must be maintained regularly to stay protected and beautiful.

Mahogany is a common deck material in the Indian Pond community that needs to be restained every 1-2 years (we know, we wish it were lower maintenance too).

If any wood on your wood decks or porches has rotted, our carpenters can replace the boards before we paint or stain your deck.

One stop for carpentry and painting:

Our clients appreciate that we have carpenters on staff to replace rotted wood trim, clapboards, and decking before we paint.  One call to CertaPro Painters takes care of your carpentry and painting needs.

Replacing Cedar shingles – a whole side or just a few!

A quick drive through the Indian Pond reveals MANY homes exclusively covered in cedar shingles.  Our carpenters can replace just a few or a whole side of missing or buckling cedar shingles.

If your cedar shingles are structurally in good shape but are black or dark green, you often have mold and mildew growth and need CertaPro Painters to powerwash them.

Rotted wood trim:

Exterior wood trim often rots in places close to the ground and where the trim has been cut or mitered.  This is because moisture tends to be prevalent in these sensitive areas.

Our carpenters can replace just the rotted boards with PVC trim which won’t rot.

Once the PVC is painted, it looks just like wood, so we can splice in PVC only where needed and leave the wood in good shape.

Rotted wood clapboards:

If you notice a few rotted clapboards on the siding of your home, our carpenters can replace the clapboards before we paint.  Once the side of your home is painted, the new clapboards blend with the old ones seamlessly.

Replacing deck and porch wood:

Because of rainwater puddling on the floor of your deck and porches, the wood on decks and porches can rot faster than wood on the rest of your home.

Our carpenters can replace any wood your deck needs, including railings, floorboards, stairs, and banisters.

Painting to Stucco and Brick in the Indian Pond Community:

Some homes in the Indian Pond neighborhood have low-maintenance stucco exteriors.  While you do not have to paint stucco every 7 years, the stucco does need a coat every 10 years to stay protected.

Interior Painting to Indian Pond Homes.

Open floor plan
Open floor plans require a designer’s eye to ensure colors don’t look choppy. Our designer Kate is fantastic at “full house color palettes,” so everything “flows.”

Open Floor Plans:

Many Indian Pond homes have open floor plans which can be tricky to paint.

Our designer Kate can come to the rescue and help you develop a whole house color palette that ensures that the openness of the first floor doesn’t look choppy but has colors that work nicely together so your eye flows easily from room to room.

Kate can provide a computerized color rendering of your first floor, showing how the paint colors look side-by-side before we ever pick up a brush.

Our interior painting process:

For us, the process is as important as the painting.

We understand you’re busy. We determine what’s important to your household routine before we paint.  This ensures we can plan ahead of time to respect your day’s routine and, for example, use an entryway that won’t be in your way or not let your dog outside.
