Our Interior Painting Process
Most interior painting projects follow six core stages, with the details tailored to your home and approved scope.
Step 1 – Confirm Colors and Finishes
Before work begins, confirm the colors and finishes for the walls, ceilings, trim, doors, or other surfaces included in the project.
Your local team can discuss color-matching options, sheen levels, and available color-support services. Color consultation and visualizer availability may vary by location.

Step 2 – Protect the Work Area
The team prepares the room by protecting the floors, furniture, fixtures, and other areas not included in the painting scope.
Your project representative will explain what should be moved before the crew arrives and how larger furnishings will be handled.

Step 3 – Prepare the Surfaces
Surface preparation depends on the existing condition of the walls, ceilings, trim, and other areas being painted.
The approved scope may include patching minor holes or cracks, sanding selected areas, addressing loose paint, sealing stains, caulking previously sealed gaps, and priming specified surfaces.

Step 4 – Apply the Selected Paint
After preparation and applicable priming are complete, the team applies the coatings specified in the project plan.
The number of coats, application method, and drying time will depend on the surface condition, color change, selected products, and project requirements.

Step 5 – Clean the Work Area
After painting is complete, the team removes its materials, coverings, and project debris from the work area.
Discuss furniture placement, room access, ventilation, and expected drying time with your project representative before using the space normally.

Step 6 – Complete the Final Walkthrough
Review the completed areas with the Job Site Supervisor and identify any items that may require attention before the project is closed.
Your local team will also provide applicable project documentation and care instructions.
