Painting over summers, on weekends, or over school vacations is easiest on the staff and students:

We understand that the timeline of your painting projects is tight, so we can schedule the work over school vacations, nights, or weekends so we don’t interrupt the work of your students and faculty.  Vacation and weekend work is done at NO extra charge.

Think about color-coding distinct wings in your school.  This works great to delineate the art wing from the music wing, or to give whole grades their own colors. Color coding works especially well in daycares and elementary schools where children can feel a sense of pride as they get older and become part of the “Yellow wing.”

Use color to manage the energy in each area or classroom.

While we’d never encourage you to paint whole classrooms in the following colors, using color as accents can help you manage student behavior:

Since red is a stimulating color, consider accenting your gymnasiums with it.

Yellow helps release serotonin for a better mood, so it can be used along with blue, which enhances alertness in the classroom.

Pink is soothing and has even been shown to reduce heart rate – a great accent color for a nurse’s office.

Orange increases appetite and encourages speed – a great accent color for a cafeteria where kids usually need to eat their lunch in a small window of time.

Scuff-resistant paint:

We recommend using scuff-resistant paint in high-traffic areas where students bump and lean against walls like hallways and gymnasiums.  These paints are so durable, they’re used in hockey rinks!

Germ-killing paint:

To prevent the spread of illness, CertaPro Painters can apply a paint that kills germs for about three years.  This cuts down on constant washing and cleaning and is great for daycares and nurses’ offices where germs are prevalent.

Does your school contain lead paint?

Many buildings and homes built before 1978 contain lead paint.  If you suspect your school contains lead paint, Massachusetts requires schools to hire a lead-certified painter.  CertaPro Painters is a lead-safe renovator and can help you safely plan a project where lead paint may be present.
