Easy Ways to Restore Your Home’s Luster
Posted on March 16, 2018
As the weather gets warmer and flowers begin to bloom, it’s time to rejuvenate your home to keep it as beautiful as the spring weather.
Before sitting down to Google spring painting ideas or house painters near me, we recommend considering going deeper than your typical spring cleaning. Treat your house to a few projects that will restore its luster after the harsh winter months.
“We know that when the weather gets warm there are plenty of projects that require the attention of homeowners. We always suggest starting with a focus on the outside of your home because, simply put, homeowners can really appreciate the benefits of spring house painting and maintenance,” says Denise Garvey, co-owner of CertaPro Painters® of Delaware.
Pressure wash your home’s exterior. It is time to wash away the dirt or grime caused by piled up ice and snow. A thorough pressure wash of your house is an easy way to set your home back to its normal state.
Add a fresh coat of paint to your trim. The quickest way to make a home look new is to freshen up its exterior trim. Paints can get flaky after a cold winter, especially if your area suffered a particularly harsh season. Give your house’s trim a new look with the same color it was before to give your home a simple cleanse, or pick new exterior paint colors for a full makeover and pick a new trim color.
Repaint the exterior. While this is not a small, “spring cleaning” project, if you do need to give your home’s exterior a new paint job, now is the time to do it. Look over the house for chipped or cracked paint worsened by icy weather. If there is quite a lot, keep in mind that a paint job provided in springtime might last longer as exterior paint can cure better in moderate weather, so you don’t want to wait until the summer.
Revamp your deck or patio. Just as ice can damage paint, it is no friend to finished wood. If your deck is looking like it has seen better days, it has probably also fallen victim to the cold weather. Simply add a new coat of varnish or stain to the deck to rejuvenate your outdoor space and make it last for years to come.
From pre-painting pressure washing to post-painting cleanup, every step in the CertaPro Painters® process will ensure a great new look and fresh spring spirit for your home.
