PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
Preparations:
The initial estimate process involved identifying all aspects of the property that most critically required attention. The exterior power washing was the least of our concerns. Rusted railing, failing drywall, and damaged wood surfaces all required thorough repairs before any thought of painting could even begin.
Key Challenges:
The campus was in-use all throughout the process. With students present, our painters had to be careful to stay out of the way. More importantly, other tradesmen were at work, attending to issues unrelated to the tasks of CertaPro Painters. The biggest challenge was the sheer size of the project; even the roof and trim needed our immediate attention.
General Repairs:
All rusted metal surfaces were treated and restored. All damaged drywall was patched and primed in preparation for painting. All worn wooden surfaces were restored as well. This process did involve preliminary power washing before the general exterior power wash, in order to remove loose paint off the benches and bike racks that needed attention.
Full Exterior Power Washing:
All exterior surfaces were power washed thoroughly to remove dirt and debris. This included ground fixtures like bike racks, raised fixtures like trim, and all exterior walls of the property. This community college was comprised of several buildings, each requiring more attention than the last.
Complete Property Repaint:
Painted areas included the exterior trim, railings, doors, bollards, and other surfaces. Some buildings had the old color scheme, and needed to be updated to match the rest of the campus. Its no wonder this project took a total of three weeks to complete!
