Working as a Training Specialist

As a member of the Leadership and Development (L&D) team for Certa ProPainters, Ltd., the Training Specialist will report to the Director of New Franchise Owner Training and will conduct both virtual and in-person training sessions that instill the skills needed for new franchisees and other roles as needed to successfully begin operating their independently owned and operated CertaPro Painters® franchised business. This individual will primarily work in partnership with the Certa ProPainters, Ltd. L&D and Development teams to stay up to date on organizational needs. The Training Specialist will be facilitating training classes approximately 30+ weeks/year mixed between virtual and live in-person sessions at our training center in Audubon, PA.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Commit to and communicate our corporate vision and mission.
  • Learn the CertaPro business and the various role within franchised businesses.
  • Train, support and mentor new franchisees.
  • Deliver highly engaging seminars, workshops, individual training sessions, and lectures.
  • Practice continuous improvement in design, facilitation, and coaching.
  • Collaborate with company leadership to identify company training needs.
  • Plan, design and implement an effective training curriculum.
  • Prepare hard copy training materials such as module summaries, videos, and presentations.
  • Provide effective communication to all stakeholders.
  • Routine maintenance, updating redesign of training assets.
  • Accept new duties when assigned, using discretionary judgment to understand and balance corporate priorities and long-range success.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a training or support position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the painting or home improvement industry and/or designing adult learning programs preferred.
  • Individuals living in the Audubon, PA area preferred.
  • 30% Travel

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Impressive communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in the design of effective adult learning.
  • Solid knowledge of the latest training methodologies, techniques, and tools; including virtual mediums such as Zoom.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Critical-thinker and problem-solver.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Evaluation of Performance

  • Success in this role will be determined via training evaluation data, franchisee performance and organizational performance KPIs based on essential functions/responsibilities.
