Working as Craftsmen Program Director

The purpose of the Craftsmen Program Director role is to lead the Craftsman Team, which provides substrate specific bidding, equipment, materials, application, and project management skill transfer to the Franchise Body. Support the production efforts of Franchise Owners throughout the United States and Canada to deliver extraordinary residential and commercial brand experiences to customers, Job Site Supervisors, Painters, and Production Staff. The Craftsmen Program Director will report to the Sr. VP of Learning and Development.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and tactical support for the Employee Model Strategic Change Initiative.
  • Create and maintain self-guided learning for Franchise Body, in conjunction with the Leadership & Development Team.
  • Design and lead in-person facilitation of New Painter Training.
  • Hire and lead Corporate-employed Craftsman and ensure the team has curriculum consistency.
  • Develop a network of Craftsman based on the Franchise Body’s prioritized substrate needs.
  • Design, facilitate, and catalog Open Forum Webinars with the network of Craftsman.
  • Develop and maintain the online Painter ROTOR (Recruit, Orient, Train, Operate, Retain).
  • Coordinate cohesive program development and distribution with the Residential Sales Manager, Production Training Specialist, and Commercial Operations Manager.
  • Create and Deliver Strategic Job-Site Supervisor recruiting programs to support Franchisees in growing their production capabilities and improving retention of high performing Production Staff.
  • Prepare and deliver content for annual Conference and regular meetings of various stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key vendors.
  • Additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Desire to transfer painting knowledge on mass scale and lift up the painting industry.
  • Ready to begin leaving a legacy by impacting the lives of thousands of painters.
  • 5+ years of full-time experience in the residential or commercial painting industry.
  • Expertise with many substrates; bidding, equipment, materials, application, project management.
  • History of successfully developing Helpers to become Skilled Craftsmen.
  • Proactive and able to work independently.
  • Preferences:
    • Live within 1-hour of Audubon, PA
    • Bi-lingual
    • CertaPro Painters experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel out of state/overnight (approx. 20-40%)

  • Strong interest in developing skill in:
    • Designing effective adult learning
    • Facilitation
    •  Virtual Meetings
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Skilled in interpersonal and relationship building, professional self-awareness, and emotional intelligence.
  • Technology-literate; ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.
  • Intermediate skill level in computer usage in various applications (MS Office applications, Internet, and Intranet).
  • Ability to work constructively with people at all levels across the company.
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically, and systemically, while also attending to details effectively.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize work and stay centered and constructive during rapid change and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively as a self-directed leader of multiple initiatives.
