Working as a Commercial Field Operations Manager

The Commercial Field Operations Manager’s primary role is to support franchise owners and their crews in the development and implementation of successful business strategies that will help maximize profits and deliver outstanding experiences. The Commercial Field Operations Manager will provide this support through developing and implementing training and supportive resources on production systems, rates, crew selection, crew management, project planning, painter criteria, business planning, job/profit tracking, and market-based performance standards. The Field Operations Manager reports to the Regional Vice President of Operations.

Strategy Development

  • Create and implement strategy to engage and educate existing franchises systemwide about successful, stable, growth-oriented, operation and production best practices
  • Liaison between national corporate production team and commercial operations in development of commercial crews
  • Liaison with Leadership & Development team for operation and production support towards commercial and larger business support resources
  • Support commercial estimating worksheet development and connection to CertaPro Painters® proprietary CertaOne software platform
  • Develop technology initiatives directed towards commercial operations

Training

  • Build on, modify, and make additions to core operational and production training to assist franchise owners in developing and strengthening a growth oriented, market competitive commercial operation
  • Develop and implement education processes and content for franchises on market-based commercial estimating, production, and operation systems
  • Train Operations and Development GMs in how to support businesses transitioning to commercial business structures
  • Create, and distribute a central resource for technical and specialty job support
  • Provide support resources, training, and development support to CertaPro Painters® franchises transitioning from residential-centered business plans and staff to dual residential/commercial plans and staff
  • Run training sessions on commercial job planning/estimating and production methods

Best Practices Discovery and Implementation

  • Track and analyze system results for best practices that can be replicated system-wide and are not dependent on specific market or personnel
  • Collect and distribute national best practices on large-volume job production and segment specific production
  • Research and collect market best practices to support CertaPro Painters® franchises
  • Coordinate efforts and support programs between Learning & Development, Production, Marketing and IT departments to effectively improve efficiency and implementation of best practices within franchise commercial operations

Performance Measures

  • Achieve consistent commercial success ratio growth throughout the franchise
  • Achieve consistent growth in completed commercial sales throughout the franchise system
  • Assist franchisees in achieving and maintaining a healthy level of profit on their commercial revenue
  • Assist franchisees in achieving and maintaining high customer satisfaction ratings that meet the organizational standards as measured through the Net Promotor Score system
  • Model operations in line with company standards as defined in its Standard Operating Procedures manual.
  • Complete required training and development objectives within assigned time frames

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Four-year college degree in related field preferred
  • Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work remotely while overseeing different markets
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of commercial painting experience
  • Ability and willingness to work hands-on and be highly effective and productive
  • Willing to travel about 50% of the time
  • Willing to take a pre-employment assessment
