Our Environment
CertaPro Painters® is committed to promoting sustainability and having a positive impact on the environment. We partner with local charities and foundations, while encouraging our independently owned and operated franchised business to protect the environment in the communities they serve.
Local Events
Volunteering our time and energy to help clean up our local community is one of the ways we give back. Our annual clean up event in Philadelphia is a popular event among our corporate team members. In 2021, we had a great turnout of volunteers and collected 44 bags of trash in total along the Schuylkill River Trail!
Environmentally Friendly Paint Disposal
The painting industry has made great strides in developing safer, more environmentally friendly paint formulas in recent years. Nevertheless, modern paints can still have a detrimental impact on the environment if not disposed of properly. It’s crucial we all work together to dispose of leftover paint in an environmentally friendly manner.
Reusing old latex or oil-based paint is great way to get rid of leftover paint. There are places within your community that may have a need for donated paint, such as your local community theatre or high school drama department. Habitat for Humanity also accepts leftover paint, which they repurpose for their homebuilding projects. You can contact your local Habitat for Humanity Chapter to find out how to donate your old, leftover paint to them.
PaintCare is a non-profit organization that represents paint manufacturers to plan and operate paint stewardship programs in U.S. states and jurisdictions that pass paint stewardship laws. If you live in one of the states that participates in the Paint Care Program (OR, WA, CA, CO, MN, NY, VT, CT, RI and ME), you can contact them to find out where to drop off leftover paint or request a pickup.
