In May 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Fort Collins completed a remarkable interior transformation for a Loveland residence that pushed beyond a standard repaint into a bold, design-driven makeover. This project showcased our ability to execute dramatic color transitions with flawless precision, as the home’s white trim was fully converted to striking Tricorn Black, creating a modern, sophisticated aesthetic throughout the property.
The homeowners envisioned a cohesive flow that carried from the open living room and kitchen to the staircase, bedrooms, and bathrooms—tying the entire home together with a strong design statement. Using premium Sherwin-Williams Emerald paint systems, our team delivered not only striking visual impact but also lasting durability and protection for a home designed to stand out in Northern Colorado’s competitive housing market.

PROJECT SCOPE:This project encompassed a full-home interior repaint with an emphasis on trim and focal design elements. Every trim feature, from baseboards and doorframes to interior doors, railings, and wall caps, was carefully transformed from white to Tricorn Black using Sherwin-Williams Emerald Trim Enamel.
The staircase and living room received bold accent walls, creating dramatic focal points that highlighted the home’s multi-level design. On the main floor, the bathroom was fully enveloped in Tricorn Black—including both the walls and ceiling—for a sophisticated, spa-inspired effect.
The kitchen island was also refinished in Tricorn Black, tying seamlessly into the home’s overall palette and providing a striking contrast against lighter surrounding elements. Throughout the project, the homeowner opted for Sherwin-Williams Emerald Interior Paint in washable matte finishes, upgrading durability and ensuring the rich dark tones would remain pristine over time.
SPECIAL TECHNIQUES:
The project leaned heavily on premium paint systems for both durability and finish quality. Sherwin-Williams Emerald Trim Enamel was selected for its acrylic urethane formula that delivers long-lasting performance on trim, while Emerald Interior Matte paint provided a washable, low-sheen finish ideal for high-traffic areas. Extreme Bond Primer was applied to challenging surfaces like railings to ensure strong adhesion and smooth results.
To achieve the crisp definition required for black trim, our crews employed advanced masking techniques, removed and reinstalled switch plates and covers for a clean edge, and applied precise brushwork to maintain sharp, consistent lines.
