Interior Multi-Purpose Facility Painting

CertaPro Painters® of Springfield, VA was contacted in September, 2022 to paint the interior of a multi-purpose facility in Chantilly, Virginia. The building is managed by the New Life Christian Church that is principally used as an athletic facility and church sanctuary about 10 minutes from Dulles International airport. The interior of the building holds two nearly full sized soccer fields, eight regulation basketball courts and a 9,000 square foot weight training area. It includes a registration area, day care facility, bathrooms with showers and locker rooms and quick service restaurant.

Project Involvement

The facility presents over 50,000 square feet of wall space for painting. The interior mainly consisted of painted block walls that were 23 feet in heigh and had been painted in a variety of vivid colors. The paint itself was peeling in a few areas as it has not been painted in over 10 years and the walls had built up dirt that must be removed/cleaned prior to painting. To paint the walls and design elements, the team utilized two 19-foot scissor lifts, a laser level, and painters tape to mask out designs for painting. The majority of the project was repainting the walls with light drywall repairs needed in the bathrooms and locker rooms. However, the painting plan called for extensive designs to be painted in multiple areas of the building.  The design elements included lines, colors and letters to make a bold statement. It took our team just four weeks to complete the whole project!
