MegaMart Complex in Alexandria, VA

CertaPro Painters® of Springfield, VA was contacted in October 2021 to paint a retail facility located in Alexandria, Virginia. The warehouse building was home to two retail stores, a thrift store, and a grocery store, The building consisted of 23,870 square feet of exterior walls, in addition to safety bollards, railings, window highlights, and trim. Before arriving, the exterior of the building was showing wear and tear from weather and the normal aging process. Paint was chipping, rust was showing, and many of the building’s bricks were missing mortar.

The project involved preparation of the exterior surfaces, filling holes, scraping off paint and priming where needed. The exterior was also pressure washed. Our team then painted the walls and other surfaces correct colors, including a matching blue corporate color and safety yellow.

Throughout the painting process, the facility remained an active retail location open seven days a week. After numerous meetings with the property manager, an action plan was developed to mitigate the impact of pressure washing and painting the building on the business and customers. Our team arrived before opening hours, and individuals were stationed to caution shoppers to the ongoing work to keep the site safe for all.
