CertaPro Painters^® of Salt Lake City, UT was contacted in June 2021 to repaint the exteriors of Farmington Crossing HOA. Farmington Crossing HOA is a community made up of luxury townhomes across 45+ buildings that is located just north of Salt Lake City, UT.  The exteriors of the buildings consist of Hardie board siding and fascia, stucco areas, with wood window and door frames, wrought iron railings, and wood corbels at the tops of the buildings.

There was some peeling paint but the larger problem was the significant fading to the red, green, and blue portions of the exterior.  Deeper hues or colors with more saturation tend to fade at a faster rate.  We also requested that repairs be made to certain areas of the Hardie board sections before we painted. We power washed all areas to be painted, caulked areas where previous caulk was failing, then scraped any peeling paint. For the wrought iron railings we scraped and/or sanded and/or ground any rust areas and spot primed.  We then applied two finish coats of paint to all designated areas.

Due to the size of the HOA, it was decided that we would create a paint cycle.  This means we paint a designated number of structures each year to help maintain the same expenditure on maintenance costs each year. In this case it was decided we would paint 8 buildings this year.
