Multi-Room Residential Painting Project
CertaPro Painters® of Colorado Springs, CO was contacted in March 2022 and asked to paint multiple rooms in this home in the Broadmoor area. The project rooms included the dining room, kitchen, living room and loft as well as surfaces throughout the home––including the ceiling––that had been prone to damage. Our professionals happily took on the project and had the entire space looking as good as new in just three days.

Condition of Home:
Upon arrival, it was evident this home and been lived in by an active family with children and dogs. Multiple surfaces required drywall patching, varying from normal nicks and dings to repairing water damage and larger holes. We repaired several bullnose corners as well. Additionally, the walls were dirty, and had discolored over time, especially closer to the ground where kids and dogs touched it more frequently. The paint was not washing anymore without discoloring and disintegrating.
Process:
We carefully protected brand new floors, patched the drywall throughout the area, and then we painted the kitchen cabinets, ceilings, walls, baseboards, doors, door casing, stairway handrail, and stairway stringers.
Materials:
We used Duration Home from Sherwin Williams on the walls, which is an exceptionally cleanable paint that can endure an incredible number of scrub cycles. This paint should hold up very well to the children and dogs in the home and provide many more years of beauty!

Dining Room and Kitchen
Kitchen cabinets require lots of care and attention to paint properly. We carefully prepared the surface by cleaning and scuff-sanding to promote adhesion with the premium adhesion and stain-blocking primer. We then spray several finish coats of a top-shelf hard finish enamel paint. Cabinetry is painted using a high-volume low-pressure (HVLP) spray system, or a fine-finish airless spray system. This allows us to achieve a very smooth and consistent coat without any brush strokes.
Living Room and Loft
The living room and loft areas were some of the most used areas in the home. In addition to fixing the damage to the walls, the homeowners were hoping for a fresh color to modernize the area. Our professional color consultant worked with the client to choose this fresh sky blue color and white trim.

Ceiling and Surfaces Repairs
Drywall patches require lots of care and attention to closely blend and hide the old imperfections. This is never a perfect science, but we can usually get the patches to hide well.
