About the Project
Condition of Building:
CertaPro painters of Colorado Springs was called upon to help solve a unique situation for a customer who distributes gas and diesel within a populated area. The customer was unable to remove the tanks and move them for refurbishment, so they had to be painted on-site. The rusted tanks had to be wire brushed, primed and painted to extend their life. Once the tanks were moved in anyway, the distributor would loose their Grandfathered status with the City, be out of compliance and have to move their operation.
Project Involvement:
CertaPro painters very carefully used powertools and wire brushes to knock off all of the rust to the tanks and fueling platform before spot priming and painting. CertaPro used a Hotsy and a degreaser to remove buildup on the tanks and platform to make the surface ready for painting.
Special Challenges:
CertaPro painters brought in their local Sherwin-Williams Industrial representative to advise on what paints should be used to complete the project.

Hotsy power washer, degreaser, power tools with wire brushes, specialized PPE equipment.
Project Timeline:
This project was completed in 9 days during the summer of 2022.
