Our painters recently renovated the interior of a local department store that was experiencing water stains on their ceiling. Other areas of the ceiling had began to become damaged as well. We were tasked with repairing the areas with light carpentry repairs. This project took three days to complete in the fall of 2022. You can learn more details about this project below.
About the Project
The Facility:
This large department store in Colorado Springs had water stains on their ceiling and needed them freshened up before the busy holiday season.
Condition of Building:
Unsightly water stains were a concern for the local department store manager before Christmas 2022. CertaPro painters was called to not only paint over the water stains but also help repair the substrate that had deteriorated from the constant exposure to moisture within the ceiling.
Project Involvement:
CertaPro painters had to remove parts of the existing ceiling and install new supports and drywall before finally texturing, prime and painting.
Special Challenges:
Holiday displays and planograms were already set up in this area. CertaPro had to come in early before the store opened each day to complete the work and not disrupt shoppers. Scaffolding was used to allow the painters to more easily work. Extensive sheeting of the area allowed the painters to control the dust and debris from getting on merchandise around the repair.
