SCOPE OF THE WORK:

The scope of work included comprehensive interior painting services on each sales floor. Prior to painting, crews completed detailed surface preparation, including patching, priming, and minor repairs, to ensure smooth, durable finishes. Each store then received a full interior repaint using premium Sherwin-Williams coatings specifically selected for high-traffic commercial environments. On average, each location was completed in about one week, with multiple stores often underway at the same time to maintain overall program efficiency.

All painting was completed during regular store hours, requiring careful planning and close coordination with onsite teams. Crews worked in clearly defined sections, remaining within designated areas until each phase was complete to avoid unnecessary disruption.

Daily communication with store managers was essential, along with coordinated movement of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and merchandise as needed. Special care was taken in high-visibility, customer-facing areas such as registers and restrooms to maintain a positive shopping experience throughout the project.

COLOR STRATEGY & DESIGN EXECUTION:

A coordinated, multi-zone color strategy was implemented to balance Goodwill Colorado’s brand identity with a welcoming, customer-friendly retail atmosphere. The far back walls were finished in Dress Blue, creating a strong visual anchor within each store. The left and right perimeter walls were painted Lazy Gray, providing a clean, modern backdrop for merchandise displays. The front register areas were highlighted with Luau Green, accented with Lazy Gray and Dress Blue, reinforcing brand recognition while guiding customer flow. This approach delivered a cohesive and recognizable look across all locations, while still allowing each store to feel bright, organized, and inviting.

RESULTS & IMPACT:

The completed program established consistent branding across more than 20 Goodwill Colorado locations and delivered refreshed, modernized sales floors aligned with corporate standards.

Store managers and corporate leadership provided positive feedback on both the results and the process. Importantly, all work was completed without store closures, helping Goodwill avoid lost revenue while still achieving significant visual improvements. Following the success of this program, multiple additional projects were awarded.

Josh is originally from Indiana. He went to college at Indiana University in Bloomington majoring in both Marketing and Professional Sales. During his time at IU, he was actively involved with the second largest student-run fundraiser in the country supporting the local children’s hospital in Indianapolis. His previous work experience includes working at the 3rd largest insurance brokerage in the world, where he was able to get top of the line training in both sales and marketing.

Josh moved to Colorado be in a place where he could enjoy spending almost every weekend outside. During the winters you can find Josh now skiing down his favorite mountains, although never having skied before moving to Colorado. During the summers Josh loves to go hiking, camping, and enjoys spending time with his friends at live music events.
