At CertaPro Painters® of Southern Montana, our crews typically begin work between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM. Please note that a member of our team or the original estimator may arrive at a slightly later time if necessary.
Potential Schedule Changes
Occasionally, unforeseen factors such as weather conditions or adjustments to the scope of prior projects may impact your scheduled start date. If any changes arise, rest assured that we will notify you promptly to keep you informed.
Preparation Guide for Exterior Painting Projects
To ensure efficiency, safety, and smooth progress for your exterior painting project with CertaPro Painters® of Southern Montana, we kindly ask that you complete the following tasks before our arrival:
Foliage
Please trim any bushes or plants touching the house and surfaces to be painted or repaired, cutting them back by at least 12 inches. Vines close to or connected to the house should also be removed. While we will do our best to paint behind any remaining plants, we cannot guarantee perfect coverage in these areas.
Windows
- Securely close all windows before we arrive for pressure washing.
- Notify your Job Site Supervisor if you’ve experienced water leaks around windows or doors in the past.
- Place towels around windows prone to water leakage, as water may occasionally make its way inside during pressure washing.
Decks/Porches
- Remove all small items and fabrics from decks and porches before pressure washing or painting.
- We will only pressure wash decks if they are being stained as part of our work to prevent peeling paint issues.
Screens
- Unlatch window screens from the inside so we can remove them from the outside without entering your home.
- Storm windows will only be removed if they are not glued shut, as we avoid forcing removal to prevent damage.
Pets
- Plan to keep pets out of the work area during the project.
- Inform your Job Site Supervisor of any special instructions regarding gates, latches, or doors.
- Please remove dog waste from the property before our team arrives.
Vehicles
- Customer Vehicles: For the duration of the painting project, please park vehicles in the garage or on the street to allow access to the work area.
Property Access
- Ensure access to all areas included in the scope of work.
- Unlock gates and provide any necessary codes for locks or lockboxes.
Water & Electricity
- Exterior water spigots and electrical outlets may be required. Please notify your Job Site Supervisor where these are located.
Parking
- Inform us in advance of any parking restrictions in your neighborhood.
- For city buildings with limited parking space, please recommend the best available parking location.
HOA Permission
If your neighborhood is governed by a Homeowners Association (HOA), ensure compliance with any color or work restrictions outlined in the by-laws.

- Moving Furniture
- We will move all large patio or porch furniture and group it into the center of the patio, yard, or another area clear of the work zone.
- Some weight restrictions may apply.
- Protecting Furniture
- Patio or porch furniture near the work area will be covered with plastic or painter’s drop cloths to ensure protection.
- Returning Furniture
- All furniture that we move will be returned to its original place once the project is complete.
- Cleanup
- We will remove and dispose of all trash, leftover materials, and empty paint cans from your property.
- Paint Cans for Touch-Ups
- Leftover cans of paint will be clearly marked and left for your reference or future touch-ups, upon request.

To ensure your satisfaction with the completed project, our Job Site Supervisor (the painter on site) will keep you informed and address any questions throughout the process.

Key Steps in the Process:
- Completion Notification
- The Job Site Supervisor or Residential Manager will provide you with the expected completion day and time for the project.
- Final Walkthrough
- The Job Site Supervisor will walk through the house and project with you to ensure you are satisfied with the work.
- They will serve as your primary point of contact during the project. However, if you need additional assistance, the Residential Manager is also available to help.
Scheduling the Walkthrough
We kindly ask that you make time in your schedule to meet with our Job Site Supervisor for the final walkthrough. Your feedback is essential in ensuring your satisfaction with our work.
