The Drake House Commercial Painting Project
The Drake House is a set of apartment complexes of short-term crisis housing for single moms that can be used as living spaces or business offices. Opened in 2006, the complexes had an unusual amount of wear and tear that hadn’t been addressed. The interiors were in the process of upgrade and repairs, but they trusted the CertaPro Painters® of Roswell to upgrade and refresh the exterior.
Upon investigation, the paint was fading and peeling away. There were also many light carpentry issues such as rotted brick molds and window sills, re-sealing windows, and replacing various wood facets all over the complex. The project took place in July 2021 and took 5 days to complete. The challenges mostly involved finding more rotted wood during the power wash phase and getting it replaced.
The CertaPro Painters® began the project by power washing both complexes and replacing/repairing the wood as soon as it was discovered. Most of the complex’s original color was matched, with the exception of changing the door color. Ladders were involved to reach the second floor windows and applying the sealant to the metal window gables above the second floor.
