Ensure a smooth interior painting project from start to finish with these pre-arrival instructions:

PREPARING ROOMS

Before we arrive on the first day, please prepare the rooms.

  • Remove all pictures/paintings/mirrors from walls. You may leave nails in if you plan to re-hang pictures in the same location. Remove unwanted nails/screws so the holes can be filled. If the property is vacant, we will fill ALL nail holes.
  • Remove all small and fragile objects from tables.
  • Floors should be empty of all objects except furniture.
  • If we are painting shelves, cabinets, closets, etc., all areas need to be cleaned out.
  • Remove books from bookshelves that we are painting or moving.
  • Remove expensive and fragile electronics/equipment from entertainment centers and unplug equipment from the wall.
  • Remove window treatments, including blinds, curtains, and shades. You may leave the hardware. Let us know if you plan to re-hang them or replace them, so we know whether to leave the brackets in place or remove them and spackle the holes.
  • Let us know if you’d like your switch plates repainted to match or if you plan to replace them.

PETS

Keep pets out of any rooms we are painting. It’s easy to bump into a recently painted wall or kick up dust that can undo hours of work.

CLEANUP

Surface clean-up happens daily, with a full clean-up when the job is complete.

  • We do a surface clean-up at the end of each work day.
  • A full clean-up happens once the job is finished.
  • Spackling and sanding create some dust. We’ll clean up as much as possible before leaving each day.

PAYMENT

Once the final walkthrough is complete, please give payments to the Site Supervisor along with your completion packet. Make checks payable to “CertaPro Painters.”

Accepted payment methods include:

Personal check
Cashier’s check
Money order
ACH
Credit card (an additional 3.5% customer service fee applies, as stated in your contract)

Residential customers should provide payment immediately following completion. Mailing a payment is only an option on a case-by-case basis and must be arranged with the office.
