Residential Porch Staining Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT

In January of 2026, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA completed a residential porch staining project for a homeowner in Roanoke. At the start of the project, the home’s deck was previously degrading from weather and time and in need of a staining.

The project included washing all surfaces to be stained, prior to staining. Our team stained all wooden pickets, rails, beams, posts, and frames with Sherwin Williams Super Deck in a Semi-Transparent stain in the color Coopers Hawk. The staining included all areas inside and outside the screened porch.

CHALLENGES

Our biggest challenge was consistency — we used semi-transparent stain on old wood, which can create challenges with appearance.

PROJECT TIMELINE

This project was completed in 2 and a half days.

THE FINAL RESULTS

The fresh staining gave the porch a fresh, clean look and removed visible signs of aging. Check out the beautiful before and after photos below!
