Kitchen & Bathroom Cabinet Case Study
by CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
In August 2026, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA completed a cabinet refinishing project for a home in Moneta, VA. The project included the natural wood cabinetry throughout the kitchen and both bathrooms.
Our team refinished the existing cabinet doors, drawers, bodies, sides, and natural wood trim attached to the cabinetry. The cabinets were lightly scuff sanded and deglazed before being primed with BIN Shellac Primer.
Once the surfaces were prepared, the cabinets were sprayed with Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane in either a semi-gloss or satin finish. The spray application was used across the cabinet doors, drawers, bodies, and trim to create a smooth, consistent finish.
CHALLENGES
The main challenge was deglazing the existing cabinets before painting. Our painters used BIN Shellac Primer as part of the process to prepare the cabinetry and help achieve the finished look.
PROJECT TIMELINE
The project was completed in 3 days.
FINAL RESULTS
The completed project refinished the natural wood cabinetry throughout the kitchen and both bathrooms. The cabinet doors, drawers, bodies, and trim were prepared, primed, and sprayed with Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane for a smooth, consistent finish. See the photos of the results below!
