Home Interior Painting Case Study
by CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
In July 2026, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA completed an interior painting project for a home in Troutville, VA. The home had outdated dark colors that the customer wanted changed, along with discoloration and peeling or chipping paint in some areas.
The team scraped all loose or peeling paint, filled nail holes, replaced failing caulk, and spot-primed areas as needed. Several small wall repairs were also completed, including filling lag holes while keeping the repair areas small to preserve the existing wall texture. In the living room, a chipped section of paneling, or wainscoting, was repaired by filling and smoothing the area before painting.
The walls were painted using Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint in a satin finish. The chair rail, doors, doorframes, and window frames were painted using Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane Paint in a semi-gloss white finish.
CHALLENGES
The small wall repairs and lag holes presented a challenge because the existing wall texture needed to remain intact and consistent with the surrounding surfaces. The team kept each repair area as small as possible, carefully feathering the edges and blending the repaired areas into the surrounding wall before painting.
PROJECT TIMELINE
The project was completed in 2 days by Marbel and Luis’ crew in July 2026.
FINAL RESULTS
The outdated dark colors were replaced with new paint throughout the project areas. The team also completed several wall repairs and refinished the chair rail, doors, doorframes, and window frames. Check out the photos below to see the completed work.
