Interior Commercial Painting Case Study
by CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
CertaPro Painters® completed an interior painting project for a roadside assistance and travel services organization in Manassas, VA, in October 2026. The facility showed normal wear and tear from heavy foot traffic, with fading and peeling paint in some areas. The project included painting the foyer and entryway, showroom, TV area, hallway leading to both bathrooms, copier room, office behind the red wall, break room, and locker area. The break bathroom walls were washed rather than painted.
Before painting, our crew scraped loose or peeling paint, spot primed surfaces as needed, and replaced failing caulk. All paintable baseboards were cleaned before painting. The project included painting the walls, ceilings, door frames, and previously painted doors throughout the designated areas. Wall repairs were also completed in the break room and the office behind the red wall.
Additional work focused on the showroom and front counter. A red stripe was painted beginning on the left side of the showroom wall where the wall drops down, continuing across the existing red wall and onto the front lip of the front counter. The insurance map on the left side of the showroom was primed and painted, with minor drywall compound work completed to create a smooth surface. Items were removed from the red wall before it was repainted white. The wall that previously displayed the blue map was also painted white, while the map on the right-hand wall was retained.
CHALLENGES
One of the main challenges was completing the extensive scope of work within a limited timeframe. The crew had two and a half days to complete the project, beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and continuing through Saturday and Sunday. With multiple rooms requiring painting, wall repairs, surface preparation, and detailed work on the showroom walls and front counter, careful planning and coordination were needed to complete the work within the allotted time while maintaining quality.
PROJECT TIMELINE
The project was completed in two and a half days by Byron’s crew.
FINAL RESULTS
The project included interior painting throughout the facility, wall repairs in the break room and office, and detailed painting work on the showroom walls and front counter. Several walls were changed to white, while the red stripe and retained map helped preserve specific elements of the existing showroom layout. Check out the photos below to see the completed work.
