PROJECT INVOLVEMENT

In July 2026, CertaPro Painters® of Roanoke, VA completed a deck staining project for a multi-family housing community in Blacksburg, VA. When the project began, the decks showed significant wear from exposure to the elements. The existing stain had worn away, leaving the wood faded, uneven in appearance, and showing signs of surface wear.

Our team power washed all seven rear decks and seven front stoops before applying a fresh coat of stain. The project included the front stoops, trim, rear deck flooring, trim, posts, handrails, and pickets.

Once the surfaces were prepared, all designated areas were stained with Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck Semi-Solid Stain in the color SW 3565 Bamboo. The new stain refreshed the appearance of the decks while helping protect the wood from future weather exposure.

CHALLENGES

The biggest challenge on this project was working around multiple families while the community remained occupied. Our crew coordinated the work to minimize disruptions while completing the staining project safely and efficiently.

PROJECT TIMELINE

The project was completed in 2 days.

FINAL RESULTS

The completed project restored the appearance of all seven rear decks and seven front stoops with a fresh, consistent finish. The new stain refreshed the wood surfaces while helping protect them from future weather exposure. See the photos of the results below!
