Basketball Gym Interior Painting
Project: Our team at CertaPro Painters® of Greenville East, SC successfully transformed the interior of the Mauldin First Baptist Church Basketball Gym in Mauldin, SC.

When CertaPro Painters of Greenville East, SC began work on the basketball gym at Mauldin First Baptist Church, the facility was showing significant signs of wear and tear. The paint on the gym’s interior was faded and chipping, and the cinder block walls were beginning to calcify due to water leaks. The project involved repairing these deteriorated surfaces and repainting both the ceiling and walls to restore the gym’s appearance and protect it from further damage.
The team first assessed the condition of the substrate to ensure it was sound enough for painting. This project also required some grinding, especially on rusted areas with pitting, to create a smooth surface for the new paint. Special equipment, including a scissor lift, was used to reach the high areas of the gym, and a grinder was employed to address the rusted sections.
Result:
The project was completed in two weeks, resulting in a beautifully restored basketball gym. The once faded and chipped surfaces were transformed with fresh, vibrant paint, and the cinder block walls were repaired and protected from future calcification. The use of specialized equipment and techniques ensured a durable and high-quality finish, meeting the church’s needs and enhancing the gym’s appearance for the congregation and the community.
