Clayton Homes – Warehouse Painting Project
Sitting at 180,000 square feet, Clayton Homes recently purchased a manufacturing facility in Morristown, TN that needed an immediate facelift. The CertaPro Painting team planned to begin working in an empty warehouse but knew equipment and stock items would be introduced as the weeks progressed. In order to complete the project efficiently, the production team worked with Clayton to discuss which areas needed to be completed quickly, in order to house the materials.
Before Photos
From dirt and debris, to cobwebs and uncoated surfaces, the CertaPro team knew this project would be an enormous undertaking from the start. Utilizing brooms, mops, commercial blowers, and multiple shop vacuums this dust was cleaned over the course of 8 days with up to 10 working crew members. Rust was limited on the I-Beams, but any severe rust was sanded, and spot treated with rust inhibitive primers. The ceiling sprinkler system had over 1,000 red couplings and sprinklers that had to be masked off to stay up to code with the fire department.
Work in Progress
Crews were tasked with coating the wall space, ceiling decking, structural steel I-Beams, bay doors, man doors, safety railing and one eyewash station. With 27’ ceilings, the Job Site Supervisor and crew utilized up to 8 scissor lifts with wide platforms to tackle the project in the most efficient manner. After 20 long days, the project was completed on December 9, 2019. When speaking with Clayton on their experience with CertaPro Painters, they noted that the crew was “friendly, efficient, and responsive to all questions we asked. Overall, the process from start to finish was very fluid.”
