A High-Traffic Facility in Need of a Refresh
Volkswagen Group of America primarily operates in the automotive industry, within the Automotive Dealers and Gasoline Service Stations sector. Located in Lenoir City, Tennessee, this Volkswagen facility is built of largely tilt-up concrete and has many complexities, including constant mobilization of freight vehicles and incoming/outgoing manufacturing employees.

About the Project:
Condition of Facility:
The large facility was built in 2013 and required routine maintenance painting as part of the building’s preventative maintenance schedule. The exterior walls were showing their age due to the mildew and grime from years of weather exposure.
Project Involvement:
This project included two coats of paint to the tilt-up concrete, as well as touching up the accent stripes along the sides of the buildings, front sidewalk ceilings, and bollards.
Special Challenges:
With no water on site to pressure wash, we brought in a water trailer to properly prep the building for paint.
To ensure safe access and proper paint application, we also brought in one 80-foot articulating lift and two 40-foot straight booms to complete the project within the customer’s timeline.
