COMMERCIAL CASE STUDY - EXTERIOR REPAINTING

CertaPro Painters® of Des Moines, IA, was contacted in July of last year by a Big O Tires in Altoona, IA, to repaint their location exterior, as part of their fresh new rebranding strategy. 

The first step for this project was prepping the area, starting with power washing the building’s exterior to ensure that the paint would adhere properly. Next, we scraped all loose and peeling paint, followed by stucco repairs, including repairing 40 holes from a removed awning, that needed repair, before beginning the repainting process. After all repairs were patched and textured, we then spot primed all areas where repaired and where the paint had peeled off. For the final step, when it was time to paint, we applied 3 coats of paint to the building, overhead doors, gutters, and pylon sign of the location, for a bright new finish.

We wanted to cause minimal disruptions to their day-to-day operations, so our team stayed in constant communication with the client to plan which areas of the building would be done each day. We painted the front entrance area and most overhead doors after they closed for the day and on Sunday. We also had to utilize a boom lift in order to access the 40 ft pylon sign in front of the store.

We were able to complete this commercial exterior project in 10 days, giving the location and business itself a bright new upgrade. Completed in July, 2025, the project reflects our commitment to flexibility, expert craftsmanship, and collaborative service to the commercial community in and around Des Moines, IA.
