Exterior Refresh of the Tom Hanks Center for Motion Pictures – Wright State University, Fairborn, OH
In August 2024, our team was tasked with refreshing the exterior of the Tom Hanks Center for Motion Pictures at Wright State University—a renowned, 14,500-square-foot facility named after the iconic actor and dedicated to advancing film education.
Home to state-of-the-art production studios, editing suites, and collaborative learning spaces, the center plays a central role in the university’s creative arts program.
However, years without exterior maintenance had left the building looking tired and faded, with its original blue paint heavily washed out and vines overtaking several walls. Learn more about the scope of this project and see the impressive results!

With a major university event scheduled just one week out, the project demanded not only precision but speed.
Our team worked efficiently to repaint the entire exterior in Wright State’s signature green with crisp white accents that elevated the building’s presence and aligned with school branding.
We also refaced the building’s signage, giving it a bold, refreshed appearance that better represents the creative energy inside.
Special Techniques:
Due to the building’s architectural design, a walk board was used to safely access and repaint areas above the front entrance awning.
Timeline:
Despite the tight one-week timeline, the project was completed on schedule and transformed the facility into a vibrant, welcoming focal point for students, faculty, and visitors alike.
