In March 2026, CertaPro Painters® completed a commercial painting project at the Dayton Dragons’ professional baseball stadium and entertainment venue in downtown Dayton, Ohio. Home to the Dayton Dragons minor league baseball team, the facility welcomes fans for baseball games while also serving as a year-round destination for events and community gatherings.
After years of heavy use, the stadium’s stairwell and service areas were ready for an update. Over the course of two weeks, our commercial painting team prepared and repainted these hardworking areas to create a cleaner, more cohesive finish designed for the demands of a busy entertainment facility.
The Challenge: Refreshing High-Traffic Stadium Spaces
The areas included in the project had experienced significant wear from daily operations and foot traffic. Concrete surfaces, walls, stair systems, and other exposed areas showed discoloration, scuffing, unfinished sections, and the general wear expected in a heavily used professional sports facility.
Most notably, these areas had not been painted since the stadium opened in 2001. After approximately 25 years of use, the existing surfaces needed extensive preparation before new coatings could be applied.
Painting Stairwells, Railings, Corridors & Service Areas
Once preparation was complete, the project moved into detailed commercial painting throughout the facility. The scope included railings, stair systems, corridors, exposed surfaces, structural elements, and other high-traffic areas.
Durable commercial-grade coatings were selected to accommodate the heavy daily use these areas experience. The refreshed finishes helped replace the worn, industrial appearance with a cleaner and more consistent look throughout the completed spaces.
Before the Project
Before painting began, the stadium’s stairwells and service corridors showed the effects of years of heavy use. Portions of the concrete and masonry walls remained unfinished, while other surfaces showed discoloration, scuffing, and general wear. With some of these areas not having been painted since the stadium opened in 2001, the project provided an opportunity to create a brighter, cleaner, and more consistent appearance throughout these behind-the-scenes spaces.

The durable new finish gives these high-traffic areas a more polished appearance while helping protect the surfaces from continued daily use.
