Project Overview

Location: Loveland, OH
Project Date: May 2026
Project Duration: 1 Week
Project Type: Residential Exterior Painting

Scope of Work:

• Exterior painting of original brick
• Exterior painting of stone surfaces
• Painting of exterior trim
• Painting of soffits
• Painting of peaks
• Painting of exterior vents
• Painting of wood siding
• Caulking previously caulked areas
• Scraping and sanding surfaces where needed
• Washing exterior surfaces to remove dirt and debris
• Specialized cleaning of original brick and stone
• Protection of windows and doors from overspray
• Spraying and backrolling two coats of brick and stone coating
• Application of two coats of satin-finish paint to designated trim and siding surfaces

Challenges Addressed:

The primary challenge involved preparing the home’s original brick and stone for painting. Because these surfaces had never been previously painted, they required a specialized cleaning solution to properly prepare the substrate and promote adhesion of the new coating system.

The existing exterior also required detailed preparation, including caulking, scraping, sanding, and cleaning before painting could begin. Windows and doors were carefully covered and protected throughout the project to prevent overspray.

Products & Techniques Used:

A specialized brick painting product was applied to the home’s brick and stone using a spray-and-backroll technique. Two coats were applied to provide thorough and consistent coverage across the masonry surfaces. Two coats of satin-finish paint were also applied to the soffits, peaks, vents, and wood siding on the right side of the home.

Results:

The completed project transformed the Loveland home’s exterior from a dated appearance into a more modern and cohesive design. Painting the original brick and stone created a significant visual change, while the refreshed trim, soffits, peaks, vents, and wood siding added definition and consistency throughout the exterior. Thorough surface preparation and specialized masonry cleaning helped ensure the new coatings adhered properly and provided an attractive, uniform finish. The result was a refreshed exterior designed to better complement the home’s natural surroundings.
