In October 2023, CertaPro Painters of Cincinnati, Ohio, undertook a full-scale exterior renovation of a two-story home in Florence, Kentucky. The project aimed to completely transform the exterior, addressing every facet of the home’s appearance and structural integrity.

What Did the Project Involve?

The project involved a comprehensive range of services, starting with extensive carpentry work followed by meticulous painting preparation and execution:

• Carpentry Work:

  • Removed all existing vinyl siding from the front, side, and back of the home, inspected and repaired sub-sheeting, framing, and insulation, and installed new backer board and siding.
  • Replaced damaged brick on the chimney.
  • Replaced shingle molding on the upper and garage peaks.
  • Replaced all trim, panels, weather seal, and garage door fascia trim around the two garage doors.
  • Replaced part of the soffit on the back left corner of the home.
• Preparation for Painting:
  • Caulked all previously caulked areas around windows and doors.
  • Scraped all loose and peeling paint to ensure a firm base for the new paint.
  • Lightly sanded window sills, frames, and door frames.
  • Washed all surfaces to remove dirt and mildew, with a specific wash solution for the brick to ensure paint adhesion.
• Painting:
  • Spot primed and applied two finish coats to gutters, downspouts, dental molding, soffits, fascia boards, vents, front porch ceiling, porch columns, doors, door frames, garage doors, garage door frames, and all other wood trim.
  • Applied two finish coats to the brick, foundation, and chimney.

Special Challenges:
