Hurricane Accordion Shutter Revitalization

What We Started With: The home had aluminum accordion shutters that were structurally sound but mismatched with the home’s new exterior color. The shutters needed a thorough cleaning and repainting to match the updated aesthetic.

Process: The project involved protecting all surrounding surfaces, followed by power washing the shutters to remove dirt and grime. After cleaning with denatured alcohol, a universal metal primer was applied using an airless or HVLP sprayer to ensure proper adhesion. Two coats of finish paint were then sprayed, giving the shutters a smooth, factory-like finish. The shutters remained closed for eight days to allow the paint to cure fully.

Outcome: The updated shutters perfectly matched the home’s new color scheme, providing a fresh, cohesive look. The project was completed efficiently, with the homeowners pleased with the professional, polished finish.
