Derry Mural: Clear Coat Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
Our team was hired to apply a clear coat that would provide both UV protection and act as a defense against graffiti on a recently completed mural by a local artist. This stunning mural spanned 400 feet by 5 feet and was located next to a bike and walking path.

CHALLENGES:
This project faced no significant challenges; however, we did encounter a minor obstacle with brush and weeds that had grown onto the mural. We trimmed the overgrown brush and weeds and used a leaf blower to remove dust from the wall before applying the clear coat.

PROJECT TIMELINE
The project took place in October 2023. Due to the requirement of an 8-hour cure time for the clear coat product, the project was completed over two days.

THE FINAL RESULTS
The Derry Mural now stands protected against the elements and potential graffiti attempts. The clear coat ensures the mural’s longevity preserving its significance in the community.
