Bench Staining Case Study
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
Our team was hired to restore a worn bench in a common area in Cambridge, MA. The bench had weathered over time, collecting dirt and grime.
Crafted from mahogany, the customer wanted the bench’s stain to match the window sills. To achieve this, we began by pressure washing the surface to remove the dirt and grime. Next, we sanded and applied the matching stain, resulting in a uniform and polished appearance.
CHALLENGES:
This project required us to work around delicate landscaping. Our team was careful to maneuver around it to ensure that the greenery remained unharmed in the process. Additionally, the bench slats made it difficult to access the grooves for sanding and staining. This required our team to use great precision to avoid damaging the wood.
PROJECT TIMELINE
The project took place in October 2023 and was completed over three days.
THE FINAL RESULTS
The bench has a beautiful finish that perfectly matches the stain of the window sill. The customer loved the final results!
