Historic Home Painting Case Study

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT
The team at CertaPro Painters^® of Andover, MA had the privilege of undertaking a challenging interior painting project for a historic home built in 1928. The condition of the walls and ceiling presented several issues, including uneven textures, discoloration, and settling cracks.

The project began with us carefully fixing the settling cracks on the walls and ceiling. Using fiberglass tape, we strengthened and patched the cracks before skillfully smoothing the surfaces for priming and painting.

CHALLENGES:
One of the primary challenges we faced during this project was the curvature of the wall where it meets the ceiling. This architectural feature added complexity to the skim-coating process, as it required precise and expert techniques to ensure an even and cohesive finish.

PROJECT TIMELINE
The project took place in October 2023 and was completed in 5 days.

THE FINAL RESULTS
In just 5 days, we transformed this room and preserved the home’s historic charm. The homeowner loved the final results and now enjoys a beautifully restored living space.
