Interior Two Story Suite Painting Project in Portland, Oregon
CertaPro Painters® of Willamette was contacted in June 2021 to renew the interior two story suite in Portland, Oregon. It took our professionals just two weeks to complete and made the customer very happy with the finished look.
The interior two story suite was located in a large office building built in 1991. The suite is approximately 8000 square feet on two floors. The upper floor is a large open area for gathering. The lower floor is a work area, conference rooms, offices and a break room.
The new tenant wanted the colors updated and the previous tenant’s logos removed. The logo were vinyl stickers which could not be easily removed so we put drywall mud over them and textured to match the adjacent areas. The ceiling is metal with a deep framework that looked the ceiling was covered with metal boxes.

CHALLENGES:
CHALLENGES:This was one of those projects that we don’t see everyday. With that being said, it had its own set of challenges to hurdle. The only access into the suite was a man door. There was an open area that was 25-30 feet tall, since we could not get a scissor lift through the door we had to construct some scaffolding to do the ceiling painting.
CONDITIONS
There were no other repairs than the drywall. Because the outer walls were block and cement and Portland has a lot of rain, we did have some moisture coming through the outside wall. It wasn’t heavy so an extra coat of paint seemed to help discourage the leaking.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR TECHNIQUES
Two conference rooms had dry erase on 2-3 walls, which were badly stained from previous use. We were able to clean some of the walls, but one long wall we had to remove the dry erase, prime and reapply new dry erase. The customer wanted another dry erase wall installed. We primed and added the dry erase, but some staining from the wall or an interaction between the products bleed through in one small area, so we had to remove the dry erase, re prime and re-installed.

The Final Result
We had to do some work on the weekends to not interrupt the tenants work day. After just two weeks, CertaPro Painters® of Willamette, OR completed the project. The customer was very happy with the finished look. They have asked us to do another project.
