Community Townhome Painting Project in Newberg, OR
CertaPro received the opportunity to repaint all townhomes in the Chehalem Meadows community in September 2020. The project consisted of 36 units in 13 single-story buildings, complete with front lawns, garages, and backyards. Community projects like this often require detailed planning and communication. Thankfully, the CertaPro Painters of Willamette had the experience, and were ready for the challenge.
CHALLENGES:
We experienced one of the worst fire seasons locally, which impacted the schedule between us and the community board. At one point, the air quality became unsafe for painters. Once safe, however, our team blew ash off previously washed siding and trim, and got back to work.
Once the fires subsided, our team was met with a slew of rainy days.
Even with those significant obstacles, we were able to complete the job on time, and provide the utmost customer-satisfaction.
CONDITIONS:
- No Caulk on Porch Ceilings – carefully caulked to significantly improve each townhome’s appearance.
- Significant Paint Fading – CertaPro brought the colors of each home back to life with style & overall community satisfaction.
- Dry Rot on Garage Door Trim – fully replaced any affected boards. They were all support boards, and improved each garage’s overall appearance. Nonetheless, the community preferred the job be done right.
- Minor Paint Peeling on Siding – no repairs to the siding were necessary, thanks to love & care of the community.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
- Color Planning – Our color consultant spent a lot of time and energy working with the community board to select
colors. This made a difference in the finished results and the residents’ satisfaction. - Prep – Carefully cleaned all surfaces for paint, fix issues with caulking, dry rot on garage trims.
- Paint – Refinished exteriors of all 13 townhomes, and custom-painted each front door (per the homeowner’s request).
PROJECT TIMELINE: Sept. 2020-Oct. 2020 (Approximately 6 weeks)
BEFORE PHOTOS
Before the project started, we did a tour of the 13 buildings to survey the condition of the paint & exterior surfaces (e.g. garage trim, porch ceilings, front doors, etc).
Faded Paint & Trim at each Townhomes' Rear
The faded colors on the back of each house share the gloom of the overcast. The community demanded more for their homes.
THE FINAL RESULTS
After completion we walked around the neighborhood with the community board to find out they, and the homeowners, were satisfied and could continue to take pride in their newly-colored homes.
