Lorain Lighthouse - Lorain, OH
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED:
The Lighthouse had one full coat of paint applied last year, but the contractor was unable to see the job through. When CertaPro arrived it was infested with spiders and spiderwebs which needed to be cleaned off the building.
PROJECT INVOLVEMENT:
A full coat of paint on all exterior surfaces as well as the shutters, roof, and air horn.
CHALLENGES, EQUIPMENT AND TECHNIQUES:
Our crew needed to be barged out to the lighthouse daily. The lighthouse is 30 ft tall and required us to work at high heights for long periods of time. It’s also very windy out on Lake Erie which made conditions a bit difficult from time to time.
We completed the job using extension wands, rigging equipment to safely paint the roof, a single-man lift provided by the lighthouse, ladders, and scaffolding.
FINAL RESULT:
The project started in September 2022 and took 8 days to complete.
