Bentall Centre Parkade Stairwell And Doors

Project: CertaPro Painters^® of Vancouver was contacted to help prep a concrete stairwell in order to be painted with a beautiful mural for the Vancouver Mural Festival.

Process: In order to be sure this concrete surface was ready; our team began handwashing to create a clean surface. Once the team was done handwashing, we began priming the concrete wall and painting the surface to prepare for the artist. We also had to strip the layers of paint from the metal doors, and door frames so that they can be repainted. This was a time-consuming project but would make a huge difference with the final outcome.

Another challenge our team faced was working around a schedule to avoid heavy foot traffic throughout the stairwells, as well as avoiding surrounding traffic from a loading bay and construction site. To overcome this, CertaPro Painters of Vancouver worked on weekends and evenings to be sure to minimize their disruptions.

Result: Overall, this project took two weeks to complete the interiror stairwells, and the client was thrilled with the outcome. This is one of seven surfaces in 2020 that CertaPro Painters of Vancouver has prepped and painted the background colour for the Vancouver Mural Festival.
