Residential Exterior Painting Project
In June 2020, CertaPro Painters® of Tacoma, WA assisted a Vashon homeowner transform the exterior of their home from a faded, dark sage to a bold, striking red. The home had not been painted for over 20 years and had siding that was cracking and fading. The windows were also in poor condition. Caulking was needed arounded the window frames. Several areas of the siding needed total replacement.
Our painters used their professional knowledge to repair and repaint the home exterior. The homeowner utilized CertaPro Painters® light carpentry services to prepare the home for a new look. By the end of the job, the home looked brand new!
CHALLENGES
Each and every home has their own unique set of challenges and obstacles. This home in The home in Vashon, WA needed some tender, loving care to bring it back to its full glory. The exterior required plenty of caulking, especially around missing corners, trim, and window frames.
The home also required a full color change to alter its appearance. This provides a more difficult challenge than a same color update. The exterior requires meticulous efforts to secure a fully repainted surface with zero bleeding and missed spots.
SERVICES UTILIZED
- Pressure Washing: Our professionals power washed the full area being painted. We also scraped all loose and peeling paint.
- Carpentry Services: There were several panels on the home that required removal and replacement with new surfaces.
- Color Consultation: The homeowner and our designated color consultant chose Red Bay (SW6321) for the body of the home and Snowbound (SW7004) for the trim.

The house was a deep sage color upon arriving at the home and would need a color change on the entire exterior.
