Interior Painting Project in Springfield, VA
Our painters recently helped new homeowners renovate the interior of their house with textured ceiling removal and interior painting services. This painting project took place in July of 2023 and we completed the work in just two weeks. You can learn more details about this residential painting service below.
About the Project:
Condition of the home:
In June 2023 this 4,962 square foot 4-bedroom, 3-bath property was sold to new owners. It was originally constructed 1991 with textured ceilings in all first and second floor rooms (including closets). The house entrance opens to a 20 foot high foyer with a “suspended” second floor hallway that opens to a 20 foot high great room on the other side of the entrance. The new owners wanted all of the textured ceilings removed in all rooms, sanded smooth and then painted ceiling white. Additionally they requested the entrance foyer and great room to be painted as well as changing light fixtures and removing in-wall bathroom cabinets and drywall repairs.
Project Involvement:
The new owners wanted all of the textured ceilings removed in all rooms, sanded smooth and then painted ceiling white. Additionally, they requested the entrance foyer and great room to be painted as well as changing light fixtures and removing in-wall bathroom cabinets and drywall repairs.
Special Challenges:
The first and second floors of this house totaled just over 3,300 square feet of textured ceilings to be removed, mudded, sanded and then painted. Additionally the entrance foyer and great room had ceilings heights of 20 feet above the floor.
Equipment & Techniques:
For this extremely large job, and to complete the project as quickly as possible, the team used a Festool Planex drywall sander attached to a Festool CT 36 E HEPA Dust Extractor to keep the workspace as dust free as possible. Additionally, because the team needed to reach ceilings 20 feet above the floor, a two-story scaffold system was used to safely reach the ceilings in the entry foyer and great room.
