We remember Corey Overcash who departed from us on December 14, 2023. Corey was the owner and CEO of CertaPro Painters of Southlake, Texas, and his legacy goes well beyond his career achievements.

Corey’s journey unfolded with a profound commitment to service, as he dedicated over 10 years of his life to the United States Army. Multiple deployments in support of The Global War on Terror and invaluable contributions on the United States-Mexico border showcased his unwavering dedication to the greater good.

Yet, his story didn’t end with military service. Corey envisioned a life of continued purpose and found it in the vibrant hues of CertaPro Painters. Becoming a business owner fulfilled a childhood dream, seamlessly blending his love for service with the transformative artistry of home improvement. His joy in social interactions with customers mirrored the camaraderie he cherished in the Army.

Corey’s heart beat for the community, and he aspired to make a significant impact on the lives of those around him. His passion for serving veterans, first responders, and teachers reflected a deep commitment to the well-being of those who make our communities strong.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Corey reveled in the simple joys of life. Golfing, skiing, hiking—the great outdoors was his playground. His love of history spoke to his curious mind, always seeking knowledge. Yet, amidst all this, his golden retriever, Ava, held a special place, embodying the loyalty and love that defined Corey’s character.

Corey’s leadership and entrepreneurial role at CertaPro Painters were characterized by vision, passion to excellence, and dedication. He had a great impact on the Southlake business community by establishing a high bar for professionalism and ethics that was well-respected. In addition to his accomplishments in the workplace, Corey was admired for his generosity, friendliness, and constant support of others around him. His leadership, friendship, and mentorship impacted a great number of people, creating an enduring legacy that extended beyond the office.

The amount of love and sympathy that were shown after Corey passed away is evidence of the significant influence, he had on Fort Worth and the neighboring communities.
