Summer Update for a Fresh School Year

In June 2025, CertaPro Painters® of Reading, PA partnered with Wrightsville Elementary School in York County, PA, to complete a full interior and partial exterior refresh ahead of the new school year.

With a strict summer deadline, our team worked efficiently and precisely to bring new life to classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and the school’s exterior carport, all while preserving the original color scheme.

About the Project:

Project Scope: 

This three-week project included interior repainting of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas, as well as the teacher lounge and lobby.

Surfaces varied from CMU block and drywall to metal and wood trim surrounding the windows, requiring different preparation methods. Two-tone wall designs were maintained with crisp, clean lines, and the worn doors and trim were carefully sanded and repainted. On the exterior, we restored the school’s carport canopy, which had extensive peeling and exposed metal, by scraping, priming, and repainting it using a 26′ scissor lift.

Special Techniques: 

To ensure high-quality results in time for summer floor cleaning and school reopening, our team used specialized equipment and techniques.

A 26′ scissor lift was essential for reaching 25-foot-high lobby walls and ceiling areas. We also used sanders for smoothing worn surfaces, and horizontal taping methods to create a sharp two-tone paint line along CMU hallway walls.

Careful surface preparation, including patching and skim coating drywall, ensured long-lasting results across all painted areas.
