Project

CertaPro Painters® of Northwest Indiana completed a multi-phase interior painting project for a returning homeowner in Crown Point, IN. The project initially focused on two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with additional spaces added shortly after due to the homeowner’s satisfaction with the results.

The primary goals were to refresh worn interior surfaces, improve overall appearance, and create a clean, cohesive look throughout the home while maintaining an efficient and flexible schedule.

Process

At the start of the project, ceilings, walls, and trim were in moderate condition with normal wear from everyday use. While structurally sound, all surfaces required light preparation to ensure a smooth, uniform finish.

Preparation included sanding, patching, and addressing minor imperfections across walls and trim. Special attention was given to ceilings, which had previously been painted the same color as the walls. These required additional preparation, careful cutting-in, and multiple coats to restore a clean, bright white finish. Trim areas were also scuff-sanded and lightly caulked to create sharper lines and a more polished final result.

Once preparation was complete, updated interior colors were applied to revive the home’s appearance and bring a fresh, modern feel to each space.

Challenges

What began as a smaller project quickly expanded into a full-home transformation. After completing the initial phase, the homeowner requested a second phase covering the living room, foyer, hallway, office, and laundry room. This phased approach required flexibility in scheduling and coordination while maintaining consistency in quality and finish across all areas of the home. Additionally, the project included a design-focused component, as the homeowner relied on guidance for color selection and placement throughout the space.

Result

The project was completed in January and February 2026 over two phases. Phase one was finished in two days, while phase two was completed in three days, with all work delivered on schedule and within planned timelines. The completed project resulted in a refreshed, cohesive interior with clean lines, bright ceilings, and updated wall colors that enhanced the overall look and feel of the home.
