CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana was contacted by Hotel Management Services, Inc. for painting improvements that were needed at their location in South Bend, Indiana.
The hotel’s facade was recently replaced with new siding because the old siding had peeling and fading throughout. To maintain Suburban Extended Stay Hotel’s branding requirements, the application would require the use of PPG paints to match existing substrates.
Although our professional commercial painting crew completed the project in five days, there were a few special challenges on the project, with the first being that our crew had to be mindful of guests entering and exiting the hotel each day. The second challenge was that the project was completed during business hours and took place at or near the service entrances which have a lot of vehicle traffic. Finally, the owners and property managers were located out of state, which required three points of communication at all times. By keeping all points of contact in the loop at all times, we were able to mediate any issues that arose.
Our crew worked on preparing surfaces, scraping the siding, light sanding, and power washing. In addition, we had to complete light carpentry and spot priming. Due to the nature of the large building, our professionally trained crew had to utilize an 80-foot articulating lift which requires special safety training.
Hotel Management Services, Inc. Project Manager, Mike Taylor said, “As a project manager, I often search for vendors for work that I may never meet to do work hundreds of miles away from my home location. The work with CertaPro was just such a case. I found their estimate of work, their timeliness of performing the work, and the quality of work to be outstanding. Communication between myself and CertaPro was excellent. I would use them again in the future.”
