In January 2024, CertaPro Painters took on the challenge of revamping SurePoint Self Storage in Schertz, TX. The project encompassed a four-day timeline, during which our team meticulously transformed the interior spaces of the facility. The building featured a variety of areas, including a lobby, conference room, common hallways, and a breakroom. Each space presented its own set of challenges and opportunities for enhancement.

Initial Assessment

Upon arrival, our team observed that the facility’s interior boasted an outdated color scheme that failed to align with SurePoint Self Storage’s brand colors. The walls, trim, cabinets, and doors were in need of a fresh coat of paint to brighten and modernize the space. Additionally, certain areas, such as the breakroom, required more extensive repairs and modifications to achieve the desired aesthetic.

Project Execution

Working diligently through the night to minimize disruption to SurePoint Self Storage’s operations, CertaPro Painters commenced the transformation process. In the breakroom, we tackled tasks such as removing the chair rail, repairing wall textures, and adding accent walls to inject personality into the space. Meanwhile, in the lobby, we focused on painting drop-down ceilings, priming and painting doors, and incorporating accent walls to create a welcoming atmosphere.

The common hallways received a cohesive makeover with the addition of a long accent wall, complemented by a neutral color scheme on the opposite wall. In the kitchen area, we introduced accent walls and painted cabinets to match the trim, enhancing continuity throughout the facility.

One of the primary challenges faced during this project was the necessity to work after hours due to SurePoint Self Storage’s operational hours. With the facility open seven days a week, our team had to carefully plan and execute the project during non-peak hours to minimize disruption to staff and customers alike.
